Africa is positioned to be the most important driver of global business, with a $2.5 trillion market opportunity.

By 2050, one in every four people in the world will be African - a potentially massive consumer and business market - and the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement will fuel trade and investment opportunities within the continent as well as globally. Africa’s health sector is primed to play a significant role in this growth, with an estimated value of $259 billion by 2030.

There is much to be positive about. The response to the Covid-19 pandemic changed the way healthcare is delivered across Africa. The use of digital technologies, data & AI has accelerated exponentially, as have telemedicine, remote monitoring, and digital therapeutics, enabling access to better health care through to the last mile. Scientists and health experts are conducting new research at the intersection of biology, chemistry & data science to unlock new ways to prevent & diagnose diseases plus provide targeted treatments based on need. Private sector investments in core health service capabilities in the region have accelerated.

Yet against this backdrop of rapid changes in health care delivery and resulting opportunities, many countries are still struggling. Poor health infrastructure, limited health workforce capacity, creaky supply chains and inadequate research capacity in many African countries have been weakened by COVID-19. And, as we all know from the world’s experience of the pandemic, a weak health system in one place is an imminent risk to the whole world.

We want to meet with you to talk about it.
